Crime Rate In Nepal

Crime is an action or omission which constitutes an offence and is punishable by law. Crime can have many faces and can be performed through several ways. Crime is quite common or naturally saying is committed almost every corner in the world. Criminals who commit crimes are to be punished by law. Crimes can be committed by everyone however only those who passed through age of criminal responsibility(i.e the age at which a person is no longer excluded from criminal liability) are punishable.

Nepal, a landlocked country located in the Southern part of the Asia is not exceptional to crimes like assaults, kidnapping, robbery, sexual rape, burglary, car theft, housebreaking, homicides. According to the record from mid August 2014 to mid January 2015, at least 13,757 crimes were registered. Although still relatively low compared to number registered in the same period in the preceding year, crime in Kathmandu and throughout the country has risen in some categories and declined in others.
